Greenwich Village Program Although the historic flooding caused several residents of the Greenwich Village Apartments to be displaced (still), it has provided staff and consumers the opportunity to “rise to the occasion”. The whole support team has been very flexible with schedules and locations to accommodate the temporary placements. They have worked well in coordination with less familiar staff and supervisors, to make this challenging period as comfortable as possible for the individuals they serve. Likewise, consumers have largely overcome the difficulties associated with being out their homes, embracing the changes in environment and routines, along with getting to know many new people. Especially noteworthy is the teamwork shown with other programs: Alpine, Amy Drive, Andrews, Independence House and Smithfield Gardens. The organizational skills demonstrated and relationships formed will serve everyone well in the future, to the benefit of each individual personally, as well as for the good of the entire agency. We all look forward to the upcoming transitions back to renovated apartments, knowing the adjustment to replacement belongings will be balanced by a newfound appreciation for all the things home means.

Lisa T. Amy Drive
Lisa has been a welcome addition to the team at Amy Drive since September. She has taken initiative in planning special, individualized activities for the “girls”, and is well liked by those she supports. Lisa stands out as a staff person who has been flexible with helping out other programs, going about her responsibilities with a “complaint-free” attitude. Thanks Lisa-- Gateways is happy to recognize your efforts in brightening the lives of those we serve.
